The 9th May-Photo-A-Day: "A SNACK"
One of my favourite healthy snacks, since I am trying to get into shape and all... sounds pretty strange but just try it and I promise it will become your favourite too!
Apple dipped in crunchy peanut butter is the perfect sweet/savoury/crunchy combination. I used to be able to snack on this any where and at anytime as long as had my apple and container of peanut butter which made for a great university gap-filler. Alas, I no longer can bite into the flesh of my favourite Pink Lady. The only way I can eat any hard fruit is if I slice it into bite size pieces (it is not like I am a GI-knife-carrying-Jane-kinda-girl) because....
Yup, thats me... with no front teeth. I tripped down a stair case and planted my pearly whites into the floor. I was forced to put a days leave in by the furious mom-boss and solve the dilemma. I can't blame my mom, she had asked me to stay at home. Moms and their sixth sense, they always know better than their bambino's. I had my teeth temporarily repaired as my dentist had moved to Cape Town. I walked out looking and feeling like George Wilson when Dennis repairs his broken dentures with chewing gum pieces! Dennis the Menace, Circa 1993.
Lucky for me I had planned a holiday to Cape Town for the week after the teeth-meet floor experience where I was measured up for my ceramic caps. This was a rather costly accident but anyway they were custom designed to match my previous teeth with similar halo effect edges, ridges, size and the best part the colour will always remain sparkly white. Which is great because I really do like to drink coffee: the 6th May-photo-A-Day was dedicated to this.
The only problem is that unlike my old teeth which I had grown all by myself and were apart of me, these are held in with glue...
Hard Food/Fruit/Anything + Glue = Eeekk!!
Let me know what you think of the PB & Apple Snack.
